Data Center Computer Hardware Architecture and Cooling Systems Expert Chad Attlesey to Present During SC11
Rochester, MN – November 7, 2011 - Hardcore Computer, Inc. announced today that Founder, President and Chief Technology Officer, Chad Attlesey, has been chosen as a program presenter at SC11 taking place in Seattle, Washington November 14 - 17. Attlesey was selected to present on the topic of “Increasing Data Center Efficiencies with Liquid Cooling”. Hardcore Computer will also participate as an exhibitor and will showcase the world’s first HPC server with total liquid submersion technology. Hardcore Computer’s Liquid Submerged Server (LSS) is designed to deliver performance, savings and sustainability to the enterprise.
SC11 is the leading international conference on high-performance computing, networking, storage and analysis.
Hardcore Computer custom designs and manufactures top-tier, high-performance computer systems using its patented total liquid submersion cooling technology to remove heat, the greatest limiting factor of electronics performance. Because Hardcore’s Core Coolant® is 1350 times better than air by volume at heat removal, the company’s liquid submersion technology has significantly better thermal management than air cooling resulting in optimal performance and improved reliability. Because of this, the company continues to hold its position as the dominant leader and pioneer in liquid submersion cooling for computers.
According to Attlesey, "It has been recently estimated that as much as six percent of the US power grid goes to data centers. Roughly half of that power goes to air conditioning and air moving equipment needed for air cooling or hybrid cooling of servers and other rack-mounted equipment. We have an elegant approach to solving the problem, which delivers radically improved cooling efficiency and allows for maximum computational power in the smallest possible real estate. I am excited to share our liquid cooling solutions at SC11.”
Attlesey has a rich history in technology creation, management and development and holds several technology patents. He has extensive knowledge in the fields of electro-mechanical design, computer hardware architecture/design, simulation/modeling, interface design, human factors and industrial/product design.
Prior to Hardcore Computer, Attlesey owned i, Incorporated, an engineering and design consulting service, where he produced designs and managed development to production ramping of high-tech deliverables including rugged, wearable and hand-held computers for military applications. Attlesey also co-founded and served as president and chief technology officer for MindSet, Incorporated, where he invented head-worn display technology, developed night-vision devices, created a variety of body-worn technologies and delivered prototypes to the U.S. military. Prior to his work with MindSet, Attlesey worked for and with Pemstar, a leading provider of engineering automation and test equipment services.
Attlesey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering with a business management minor from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago and performed graduate coursework in industrial design at the IIT Institute of Design and the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
In addition to Attlesey’s presentation, to be held Tuesday, November 15 from 10:30 AM to noon local time in Room 611/612, Hardcore Computer will feature its LSS™ 200 system and Detonator™ workstations, two of Hardcore’s liquid cooled computing products for the HPC market at booth number 5707 (second floor).
Participating media are encouraged to pre-schedule a demonstration or interview with Chad Attlesey at SC11.
